Information about Far Infrared Rays (FIR)

Far-Infrared Therapy: A Novel Treatment to Improve Access Blood Flow and Unassisted Patency of Arteriovenous Fistula in Hemodialysis Patients
for publication December 11, 2006.

Vascular access malfunction, usually presenting with an inadequate access flow (Qa), is the leading cause of morbidity and hospitalization in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Many methods of thermal therapy have been tried for improving Qa but with limited effects. This randomized trial was designed to evaluate the effect of far-infrared (FIR) therapy on access flow and patency of the native arteriovenous fistula (AVF). A total of 145 HD patients were enrolled with 73 in the control group and 72 in the FIR group. A WS TY101 FIR emitter was used for 40 min, and hemodynamic parameters were measured by the Transonic HD02 monitor during HD. The Qa1/Qa2 and Qa3/Qa4 were defined as the Qa measured at the beginning/at 40 min later in the HD session before the initiation and at the end of the study, respectively. The incremental change of Qa in the single HD session with FIR therapy was significantly higher than that without FIR therapy ........................

In conclusion, FIR therapy, a noninvasive and convenient therapeutic modality, can improve Qa and survival of the AVF in HD patients through both its thermal and its nonthermal effects.    .... Read More

Getting back in the game

Our backbone (spine) is extremely important to our health.

The entire body is under the control of the nerves that originate in the spinal cord. Any disturbance in th of the spine can cause pressure, irritation or inflammation to these nerves and result in a wide range of disturbances and malfunction in various parts of the body. Backache is often a symptom of a spine that is out of alignment.

Backache is also a very common complaint and is second only to the common cold as the most frequent cause for absence from work. Millions of production man-hours are lost every year because of backache, not to mention the suffering and expense to individuals who fall victim. Almost half of all working adults complain of backache every year.

After much suffering and expensive investigations, some are forced to resort to expensive spinal surgery. How about a simple non-invasive therapy for spinal and overall health.

I have been using a technology called the Livelong Bed, based on the principles of chiropractics combined with those of traditional Chinese medicine. By lying on this Livelong device - a special bed - the individual receives a combination of the following therapies:

1. Spinal massage

2. Chiropraction

3. Acupressure/moxibustion

4. Far infrared light/heat/jade

Going back to principles of oriental medicine, proper blood circulation and clean blood are essential to our well-being. The Livelong technology uses jade projectors and carbon panels which produce far infrared heat and light.

Both heat and light are essential in the healing and detoxifying processes. Heat and far infrared light help the body slowly clean the toxins from our system. They also stimulate the generation of new red-blood cells from the bone marrow, an important energy booster, especially for those whose immune systems are weak or who are anemic.

Along with the heat, the far infrared light penetrates deep into the tissues and organs, reducing swelling and inflammation, helping the body heal in a safe and non-invasive way. Other forms of heat and light treatments do not penetrate as far below the surface of the body.

Jade is a semi-precious stone, which for ages has been used in oriental medicine to help stimulate 'chi'. Jade is incorporated in the Livelong device because of its ability to hold and transmit the heat and far infrared light into the body.

Nano Bamboo Charcoal Technology in Socks

De-odorizing Socks that contain all-natural bamboo charcoal.

[ClickPress, Mon Feb 06 2006] "The active ingredients of these wonderful socks is actually bamboo charcoal!" said Robin Low,'s CEO. "We call it Eco-fabric, and it is anti-bacterial and deodorizing."

Eco-fabric's is actually a fairly simple concept, but the benefits we get from Eco-fabric are great. Eco-fabric is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, thermal regulating, deodorizing, does not generate static and it emits far infrared energy. It is a great material for footwear and socks.

Far-infrared energy penetrates beyond the skin level and is absorbed efficiently by cells below. Near-infrared is mostly absorbed at the skin level and raises the skin temperature. Far-infrared rays can penetrate up to 4 centimeters (about 1-1/2 inches), exciting the vibrational energy of molecules and resonating with cellular frequencies V as a result, FIR rays promote bioprocesses such as increased metabolism and blood circulation. ...Read more

New sauna and massage business uses heat to help heal

December 23, 2005

Angela Rowan wanted to practice traditional medicine and healing principles in raising her five-year-old son.

That motivation led to her starting up the Balance Far Infrared Sauna and Massage business at 158 South Taylor Street nine months ago.

Under the motto of "healing from the inside out," Rowan offers infrared saunas and massage tables to help relieve the stresses of everyday life, detoxify the body of chemicals and provide a healing touch for ailments.

"The infrared sauna improves circulation, relieves internal congestion and helps destroy bacteria and viruses through sweating toxic chemicals from the body," Rowan said.

By using infrared heat, her two infrared saunas can be set lower temperatures than traditional rock saunas.

"Conventional saunas can be uncomfortable; these two are set at 120 and 140 degrees," she said.

She said the Far Infrared sauna heat penetrates body tissue to a depth of about 1.5 inches and more of the heat produced in the sauna is absorbed by the body instead of heating the air as compared with a conventional rock sauna.

Rowan claims a variety of healing benefits to her Far Infrared technology including detoxification of heavy metals and arthritis relief from purging the metabolic waste that settles around our tissues. .... Read more

(PRWEB) November 17, 2005 -- Detoxifying is the most essential action anyone can take to start the process towards vibrant, energetic and youthful health. It is staggering to learn how widespread toxins are part of our daily lives. Toxins are unavoidable and hard to eliminate and accumulate over years. Using a LuxSauna infrared sauna will start you on the road to detoxification. Infrared heat saunas are an amazing improvement over traditional steam rooms and (very) hot rock saunas which produce maximum heat with minimal penetration; millimeters deep. LuxSauna uses far infrared heat waves that uniquely penetrate deep enough into the human body to expedite the elimination of dangerous disease-causing toxins and acids.

Infrared heat is the only heat that penetrates deep enough and hot enough to melt subcutaneous fat, (at 40C or 104F), which is where the body stores dangerous toxins and acids, and literally shakes them lose so they can be directly expelled safely out of the body through our sweat,” says David Floyd, CEO of LuxSauna Inc. ... Blood simple
By PEGGY O'NEILL - IR Health Editor - 02/1/05

Damon Schlenske is in the business of simplification. Visit with him about what you perceive as a complex health problem and he'll put your mind at ease with simple advice peppered with proverbs like "Let your food be your medicine; let your medicine be your food."

Another of his favorites is "When you're green, you grow; when you're ripe, you rot."

Indeed, the words of the certified nutritional adviser, or nutritional landscaper as he likes to call himself, seem too cliched to believe, but when you meet his wife Jeanette, you witness what a strict adherence to Schlenske's advice can do.

"Two drops of blood saved my wife's life," Schlenske said.

That sounds a bit cryptic, and to understand what he means you have to understand his wife's history with breast cancer. Actually, all you have to understand is that last year Jeanette was diagnosed with breast cancer; this year the cancer is gone.

In between, Jeanette refused chemotherapy, radiation and surgery; sought alternative therapies in Europe; and replicated those therapies at home. The services Damon offers at New Life Care Inc. are based on those therapies.

According to the Schlenskes, those therapies, or protocol, include eating a diet appropriate for her blood type and occasionally raising her body temperature to more than 105 degrees in a Far infrared sauna. The hyperthermia treatment is…

Lenexa sauna business is 'hot,' says magazine

Posted on Sat, Jun. 19, 2004

So impressed was Jason Lincoln Jeffers (left) with saunas that he founded a Lenexa-based sauna firm—one of the 100 fastest-growing companies, says Entrepreneur magazine. Sister Connie Zack and her husband, Aaron Zack, of Overland Park, joined the business.

Jason Lincoln Jeffers suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome for a decade before finding a cure through the far-infrared therapy provided by saunas.

He was so impressed with the benefits of saunas he went into the business with his own brand, Sunlight Saunas. His company has been so successful it is now being recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as one of its “Hot 100” fastest-growing new entrepreneurial companies.

To be considered for the list, which appears in the June issue, a business must have been less than 5 years old, the founder must be actively involved in the business and have a controlling interest, and 2003 sales had to have exceeded $1 million. Dun & Bradstreet then crunched the numbers to select the top 100.

Jeffers, who also suffered from mercury toxicity, said he tried several detoxification sources but didn't get results until he bought a sauna.

“Numerous studies have shown far-infrared is not only for detoxification but beyond that increases circulation for people who have arthritis, for chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, sore joints, to improve cardiovascular health and lower blood pressure,” Jeffers said. “It's not just for treatment but to help cure the underlying conditions because it goes to the source.”…  read more
